Blowing my own trumpet.
Or do I mean kazoo?
Seeing as how you asked, I've had numerous entries – for writing – in the internationally renowned D&AD Annual over the years. Including a yellow pencil nomination.
I've also won a few BTAA diplomas, awards at Creative Circle and Epica and quite a number of regional gongs, too.
As well as winning a wee haul of domestic prizes, my Vin de Payback mailshot was a finalist at the recent 2010 New York Festivals. And my Tall Story, along with those of two other writers, won the gold for copywriting at the 2011 Roses.
In short, I’ve garnered too few awards to fill the cargo hold of a Boeing 787. But too many to store inside a pygmy's snuffbox.
Although, of course, the most satisfying awards that I receive as a freelance copywriter are those moments when my clients throw their arms around me and sob tears of gratitude on my shoulder.
And the picture above? Well, I did once win my agency's ten-pin bowling trophy. Wasn't nearly as classy as this one, though.
